Authorities said the incident involves a “weapon or weapons,” but have not released details on a suspect or suspects. The conditions of the victims were not immediately available.
Shoppers and employees were ordered to shelter in place as officers swept the building. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing people run toward exits as confusion spread through the mall.

The Mall of Louisiana is one of the largest shopping centers in the state and was busy at the time of the incident. Video circulating on social media appeared to show a heavy police presence outside the complex, though those images have not been independently verified.
Officials have urged the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. More information is expected as authorities provide updates.
