Leipzig Vehicle Crash Leaves Multiple Casualties as Rescue Operations Continue

A car in downtown Leipzig has rammed into a crowd of pedestrians, leaving several casualties, according to eyewitnesses and police reports.

The incident took place in the eastern German city of Leipzig, where a car traveling at high speeds crashed into a pedestrian-only area, leaving at least two dead, per initial reports. Leipzig’s mayor stated that the incident has left two people dead and that the perpetrator has been apprehended. Similarly, the Fire Chief of Leipzig declared that the crash has left 20 people injured, with two being severely injured, in addition to the two deaths first reported by the mayor.
