Analysis: a 2pm local curfew set by the cartel is now in effect. CJNG threatened to execute anyone on the streets. A separate branch of the cartel stated that they will be entering and searching homes beginning at 5pm.

Analysis: We’re still seeing widespread unrest across several parts of Mexico. Most of the activity appears to be cartel-backed, including coordinated attacks on airports and public infrastructure. It’s not yet clear whether the entirety of damage to storefronts and other civilian buildings is being driven by cartels, or if it’s part of broader unrest in the area.

Emerging reports indicate that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) has taken over the Old and New Civil Hospitals in Guadalajara.

Manzanillo International Airport reports disruptions due to the situation on the road to the airport, with multiple flight cancellations.
A prison break has been reported at the Ixtapa prison in Puerto Vallarta. The Mexican Army has already arrived at the scene.
– At least 4 areas have reported shootouts, gunfire, or blockades.
– 2 major fire incidents have been mapped so far, with more reported.
– 2 other significant events have been identified.
– 1 attempted/ongoing takeover or major incident impacting public infrastructure reported.
Non-essential businesses in Tizápan, Jalisco, Mexico, have closed. All residents are urged to remain indoors.
Air Canada reports that due to the ongoing security situation in Mexico, it has temporarily halted flights to and from Puerto Vallarta International Airport in Jalisco.
